June 1-5, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Bark for Art ~ Draw, paint and sculpt your favorite furry friend! Work with a variety of art materials including oil pastels, watercolors and clay as you explore the world of dogs. You will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with local therapy dogs! $170

June 1-5, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Fun with Fibers ~ Learn to crochet, macrame, embroider and repurpose recycled fabrics. Students will make both wearable and functional pieces.  *Advanced options available for students with experience. $170 

June 8 -12, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Crazy for Cats ~ Explore how cats of all kinds have been depicted throughout time and the artists who created them.  Use a variety of art materials including oil pastels, watercolors and clay as they explore this theme. Share your love of cats while meeting and interacting with cats from LuckyK9. $170

June 8-12, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Installation Art ~ Explore the world of installation art and the artists who create unique spaces in public places. Using the theme for the summer library program as inspiration, you will create multiple sculptures that will be placed on display in the St. Louis County Library, Daniel Boone branch, during the month of July. In addition, you will be designing a new window display for Art Unleashed. $170

June 15-19, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Wheel Throwing ~ Are you ready to get your hands dirty? Patience and a high tolerance for messy hands is a must for learning this fun way to create pottery. You will learn the basic steps for creating bowls and cups on the pottery wheel. Due to the drying time involved, you will have three days to learn and practice how to throw pots on the wheel. The last two days of class will be spent glazing the pieces. $180

June 15-19, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Art and Chess Fusion ~ Offered in conjunction with the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis, students will spend time playing chess and creating artwork inspired by the game. You will help choose your art projects which can range from drawing and painting chess pieces, to creating your own chess set out of oven baked clay. Chess instruction will be led by instructor from the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of St. Louis and will be based on skill level, so please choose a specific level when registering, based on your experience. $200

June 22-26, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Nature Inspired Art ~ Bugs, butterflies and blooms will be the motivation for this class! Create both 2D and 3D pieces of art inspired by the great outdoors while learning drawing, painting and basic clay hand-building techniques. Natural materials like leaves and sticks will also be incorporated into some of the pieces. Enjoy a special planting project led by staff from Missouri Botanical Gardens. $180

June 22-26, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Creepy Crawly Art ~ Snakes, lizards, and frogs are the inspiration for this camp! Draw, paint and sculpt your way through the wild world of these fascinating animals! Get up close and personal with these animals during a live show of reptiles and amphibians presented by Steve and Deb Teson. $180

June 29-July 3, 9:30 AM-12:30 PM: Sport Inspired Art ~ For the athlete and the artist, spend the week creating art inspired by your favorite sport! Learn how to draw the figure in motion and create the illusion of movement in your artwork. Campers will use a variety of materials including clay. $170

July 6-10, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Cartooning ~ Learn cartooning techniques to help you draw your favorite cartoon characters, fantasy creatures or super cute animals. Then take these drawings and turn them into 3D sculptures in the clay room. Start with the basics and take off with your own creations! $170

July 6-10, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Personalized Jewelry ~ Design unique pieces of jewelry using various techniques on metal such as stamping, texturing, and casting resin to create pendants, earrings and bracelets. $180

July 13-17, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Arctic Blast ~ Take a break from the heat and imagine yourself in a winter wonderland! Spend the week creating artwork inspired by all things cold, using a variety of mediums to create both 2D and 3D pieces. Kona Ice will make a visit to help cool off our campers. $170

July 20–24, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Superheroes Unite ~ Inspired by comic books and well-known superheroes, learn tips and tricks for drawing your favorite superheroes and then invent some of your own! Explore superhero emblems and recreate or alter these designs to make them your own! Campers will have the opportunity to create both 2D and 3D projects. $170

July 20–24, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Glass Fusion ~ Learn glass cutting and design techniques to create colorful dishes, night lights, glass pendants and more using layers of fusible glass! $200

July 27–31, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Under the Sea ~ Come explore the underwater world as we make artwork inspired by majestic sea life and sunken treasures created using a variety of materials including watercolor, oil pastels, clay and more! $170

August 3-7, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Dynamic Drawings ~ You will be introduced to various techniques used by artists and engineers to trick the eye into thinking it sees 3-D space. We will tap into our wildest imaginings and make Cubist faces like Picasso;  we will make lines and color seem to vibrate and make our drawings come to life! This class is designed for the serious student who loves drawing and is wanting to develop their technique.  $170

August 3-7, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Painting with Acrylics and Watercolors ~ Although both are water-based paints, the painting methods are quite different.  As a class, we will learn the proper brushes to use, how to load the brush, make washes and opaque lines.  You can expect to create several watercolor studies and at least one canvas. $170

August 10-14, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Printmaking ~ Taught by our friends at Central Print, learn about the process and history of letterpress printmaking and get inky on press by making a series of books! Using letterpress type and images from their collection, create a bound book of your own design. Start by printing the pages and cover. Bind the book using hand-stitching techniques, then embellish to make it your own. We will have time to explore many binding techniques, structures, and materials. By the end of the week you will have a stack of handmade and personalized printed books to take home. $180
