This pottery class explores both hand building and wheel throwing techniques for beginners through advanced students. Instructor will determine where you are in the learning process and help guide you through projects of your choice.
Drawing and Painting Open Studio
Tuesdays, 1/7 – 2/11, 1:00 – 3:30 PM, $120
Do you know what you want to draw or paint, but just not sure how? Have you started a piece of art, but would like a critique, some suggestions, or instruction? Then this open studio session is for you! Spend 2 1/2 hours doing your own work. This is YOUR time. Our instructor will be on hand to give you the encouragement and instruction you need to move toward a completed work of art. Please bring your own supplies. Our materials can supplement and compliment.
Tuesdays, 1/7 – 1/21, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, $100
In this three-week introduction to the art of beautiful lettering, you will experience modern ways of hand lettering. Discover how to write italic alphabets with broad edge markers. Next learn to write with a pointed metal nib dipped in ink. Finally try brush lettering with a variety of tools. Your supply fee includes 3 pens for you to keep!
Mondays, 2/17 – 3/23, 1:00 – 3:30 PM, $210
Learn basic drawing techniques and proportions for depicting a realistic human figure. Create gesture drawings, examine and draw bones.
Glass Fusion/Personalized Jewelry
Tuesdays, 4/7 – 5/12, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, $150
Design unique pieces of jewelry using various techniques on metal such as stamping, texturing, and casting resin. Students will also learn glass cutting and design techniques to create a colorful dish and pendant of layered glass.
Writing in Ink
Thursdays, 4/16 – 4/30, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, $100
Discover traditional calligraphic styles of hand lettering in this class. Become an 18th century engrosser whose Copperplate letters come from a pointed metal nib dipped in ink. Pen messages using Middle Age style letters written with fancy double lines. Develop the rhythm of a graceful classic italic alphabet done with modern parallel cartridge pens and fountain pens. Your supply fee includes pens for you to keep.
Fused Glass Dish
Friday, 1/10, 6:30 – 8: 30 PM, $45
Create a unique, colorful dish using layers of class while learning glass cutting and design techniques.
Alcohol Ink Exploration
Thursdays, 1/16 and 1/23, 1:30 – 3:30 PM, $65
Join us for a fun afternoon of experimentation with alcohol inks! We will use several kinds of surfaces for our paintings as we create non-objective images full of vibrant color and visual interest. Supplies will be furnished.
Drawing with Prismacolors Colored Pencils
Saturday, 1/18, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, $35
During this prisma colored pencil workshop, you will choose one of three landscape pictures to create. During class, you will learn techniques for shading, highlighting, and blending colored pencils. We will also explore was to add texture. At the end, you will have a framed mini 2 by 3 inch work of art plus the knowledge to create even more!
Early American Writing circa 1776
Thursday, 1/23, 4:00 – 8:00 PM, FREE
Celebrate National Handwriting Day and John Hancock’s birthday with a FREE experience in writing with a dip pen and ink, plus an assortment of modern calligraphy pens. Step back to 1776 to letter your own message the way Alexander Hamilton wrote, or pen a document like the US Constitution.

This is a great introduction to the pottery wheel as well as a fun night out with friends. Participants will learn the step by step process for creating bowls on the pottery wheel.
Acrylic Pour on Canvas
Saturday, 2/1, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, $60
All the craze and nothing traditional about it, this delightfully unpredictable style of painting proves everyone can be an acrylic artist. We will dirty pour several small canvases and then create a one of a kind “friendship” pour that can be separated once dry and given away to cherished friends.

Coffee Pour Over
Friday, 2/7, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, $45
In this class within a class, an owner from Course Coffee Roasters will explain how to chose, grind, measure and pour a great cup of coffee. Sample some of their fresh roasted coffee while we construct our own ceramic pour overs from slabs of clay.

Using various size wood planks, we will paint a variety of textures and colors of your own choosing and then assemble them to make a 3-D work of art that showcases your taste and choice of color scheme.
